These photos were taken during a military training camp at the North Williamstown Rifle Range in 1923.

Vincent was appointed to play the B-flat Bass in the battalion

band.

His part-time military training was under a scheme which

involved all males between 14 and 21 years of age.

The programme was started in 1911 by the Commonwealth Government.

Vincent served  his training period between 1917 and 1923.

The regular training sessions were held in the Army Drill Hall in Maben Place,  Armadale.

The hall was demolished before the Commonwealth Government sold the land in 1989. The site was then  developed

for housing.
